Website Update: Wildlife
I’m still working really hard on updating my website… tonight I added some new shots to the wildlife gallery. Below are a few of the new images I’ve added from our road trip around California.
This is a shot of a ton of sanderlings (sandpipers) down on Pismo Beach. We walked onto the beach and stumbled upon hundreds of these cute little birds… they were everywhere, and would run back and forth across the beach as the tide rolled in and out.
We camped in Carpinteria State Beach and not far from our campsite was a seaweed-filled rocky area where there were small tide pools, a few sea lions, and this beautiful snowy egret. At one point there were 2 of them!
Somewhere along the 17-mile drive we stopped and took some photos. There was a sign that clearly read “DO NOT FEED THE SQUIRRELS”. Some (non-English speaking) tourists were hanging around, and one girl sat down with a bag of cheerios and started feeding all of the squirrels. They all ran to her (and climbed all over her)… but this one squirrel ran off with his one cheerio and sat on a rock right near me… my lucky day.
We spent the day in Monterey and ended up at a random beach farther down from the attractions. I found these two harbor seals lounging around… so cute!
